Computer MD
Professional:

My Information Technology experience dates back to 1992 when I worked as a Computer Operator at Paychex, Inc., a national payroll processing and employer services firm. Since then, I have held numerous contract and staff positions performing desktop and network support functions. I have worked in many settings: local government, military contractors, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations.

I have an AA degree in (Business) Economics and have earned a CompTIA A+ technician certification.

About This Site:

The address (URL), "itatemycomputer.com", is meant to be memorable ... did it make you laugh?? I seem to remember a user tell me once something to the effect "... it ate my computer..." or "... it ate my file...". Also, I remember high school classmates using the "... it ate my homework or book, or pen, etc."

The site was developed in Dreamweaver 3. The 'most used' fonts are Arial.

Personal:

I have lived in the Ojai Valley since 1993 and generally enjoy living in a "off the beaten path" setting in contrast with the "grind" we see in the rest of Southern California.

How did I get into computer technician work:

I always liked taking things apart ... not sure why I never became a mechanic. (Maybe the time I spilled gasoline on myself did it) Anyway, I had been working in accounting and found that learning the "tools of the trade" (computers) to be more interesting than accounting. Kind of like the guy from "Home Improvement", maybe?

By providing informed, responsive expertise and consistently high quality solutions, I expect to develop a stable base of satisfied repeat clients, who will provide word of mouth advertising about Computer MD. This is all accomplished using a simplified approach in all that I do.
So, why call me instead of "the neighbor kid down the street"?
1. Before I do anything, I ask questions and explain what I'm about to do.
2. I focus first on the purpose of your call, not on other things that would be "a good idea to do".
3. I approach things in a "one thing at a time", method.
4. Has "the neighbor kid down the street" ever had a job where keeping data backed up and safe was critical? I have.
sure, "the neighbor kid down the street" is probably going to be cheaper. Do you want it done right or cheap?
